Mrs. Indira Yakthumba is the Founder Principal of Gyanodaya Bal Batika School, Bungmati/Khokana, Lalitpur, Nepal.
In 1975, she founded Gyanodaya in loving memory of her husband, His Excellency Gyan Bahadur Yakthumba, a distinguished patriot, diplomat, and a public servant of Nepal. For more than five decades, Mrs. Yakthumba has remained deeply committed to the cause of education. Through her leadership, perseverance, and belief in holistic education, Gyanodaya has evolved from a modest beginning into a respected educational institution, nurturing generations of students and encouraging them to pursue excellence with confidence and purpose.
Her remarkable contribution to education and society has been recognized through numerous awards and honours from both government and non-government organisations.
Today, as Gyanodaya celebrates 52 years of excellence, the school proudly honours the vision and enduring legacy of its Founder Principal, Mrs. Indira Yakthumba.
