Eighteen months ago, Fintech launched on a single route with twelve buses. This month, we crossed 500 partner buses across the Kathmandu Valley, spanning routes from Ratna Park to Bhaktapur and beyond.
Getting here meant equipping every bus with an NFC reader, training conductors on the new tap-in/tap-out flow, and — the unglamorous part — visiting terminals in person when a reader misbehaved in the field.
Next, we're extending coverage to Pokhara Valley routes, and piloting an inter-city tap-in/tap-out format for longer-distance routes where fares are calculated differently.
