Copy Deck — Ready for Production
Yatra Card homepage copy
Ten sections, written for the person tapping in at 7 a.m., not the algorithm. Every line below is meant to be pasted directly into the site.
Nepal travels on a tap.
Yatra Card turns two coins and a queue into one motion. Tap when you board. Tap when you get off. The fare works itself out, down to the rupee.
Microcopy under CTAs: "No app required to ride. No cash required, ever."
Cash was never built for a moving bus.
You know the routine.
You're digging through your bag for exact change while the conductor waits and the line behind you grows. Someone hands over a note too large and gets shorted on the way back. Someone else gets waved on because nobody has time to make change at rush hour.
None of that is anyone's fault. Cash just wasn't designed for twelve stops in forty minutes.
Yatra Card was. Tap your card, board, and the fare is already handled — the exact amount, for the exact distance, every single time.
Optional microcopy: "Built for the ride you take every day."
What changes when you stop carrying change
-
You board in seconds.
No fumbling at the door. No holding up the bus behind you. Tap and take your seat.
-
You pay only for your ride.
Fares are calculated by distance, not guesswork. You're never rounding up because nobody has smaller notes.
-
You always know where your money went.
Every tap is logged. Open the app and see exactly which routes, which days, which fares — no more wondering where the week's transport money disappeared to.
-
You're not carrying risk in your pocket.
Lose your card and you can freeze it in seconds. Lose cash and it's gone.
-
Your commute gets a little quieter.
No haggling over change, no waiting for someone to find a smaller note. Just a tap and a seat.
Five steps. About the same as digging for coins used to take.
- 01
Purchase
Pick up a card at any counter. Choose Personalized if you want your name on it and a few extra protections, or grab a Non-Personalized card and start riding in minutes.
- 02
Recharge
Add balance from your phone, your bank, or a counter near you. It takes less time than buying a paper ticket used to.
- 03
Tap In
Hold your card to the reader as you board. A short beep, a green light, you're on.
- 04
Travel
Sit back. Nothing else to think about until your stop.
- 05
Tap Out
Tap again as you get off. The system already knows how far you went — it just charges you for it.
It's not the only way to pay. It's just the one people stick with.
Word spreads fast on a bus route. Drivers notice which passengers board fastest. Commuters notice who's not holding up the line. That's usually how someone hears about Yatra Card for the first time — not from an ad, but from the person ahead of them at the door.
More than 100,000 people carry one today, across 500-plus buses in the Kathmandu Valley. Most of them started for the same reason: they were tired of counting coins at 7 a.m.
Your card can't be spent by anyone but you.
Every tap is encrypted the moment it happens — the same standard banks use for card payments. If your Personalized card goes missing, freeze it from the app before you've even finished searching your pockets, and whatever balance was left comes with you to the replacement.
We don't store your card number anywhere it can be lifted. Nepal Rastra Bank licenses how we handle every rupee that moves through the system.
"If something looks wrong, we want to know. Report it in the app or call us — someone answers, day or night."
Two cards. One question: how much do you want tied to your name?
Personalized — for the commute you take every day
Link it to your ID and you get your fare history, a replacement if it's lost, and discounts if you're a student or a senior citizen. It takes a little paperwork once. After that, it just works.
Non-Personalized — for the ride you need right now
No forms, no ID, no waiting. Buy it at a counter and tap your way onto the next bus. Good for visitors, a one-off trip, or anyone who'd rather not link a card to their name.
"Not sure which one? Most daily commuters choose Personalized. Most visitors choose Non-Personalized."
You're never far from more balance.
Recharge from your banking app before you leave the house. Use eSewa or Khalti while you're waiting for your stop. Or hand cash to one of 150-plus counters across the city if that's what's nearby. However you top up, it's on your card before your next tap.
"Running low? Set an auto-reload once and forget about it."
Questions people actually ask
Do I need a smartphone to use Yatra Card?
No. The card works on its own. The app is there if you want to check your balance or trip history, but it's not required to ride.
What happens if I forget to tap out?
You'll be charged the maximum fare for that route. Tap out is how the system knows exactly how far you went, so it's worth the extra second.
Can I get my money back if I stop using it?
Yes. Any remaining balance on a Personalized card can be refunded — visit a counter with your ID.
Is my card linked to my bank account?
Only if you choose to connect one for recharging. Yatra Card doesn't require a bank account to work.
What if my card stops reading at the terminal?
Try again — sometimes it's the angle. If it still doesn't read, any counter can check or replace it, usually on the spot.
Can tourists use Yatra Card?
Yes. A Non-Personalized card needs no ID and can be picked up the same day you arrive.
Your next bus is already waiting.
Get a card today, and the next time you board, you won't be searching for change. You'll just be sitting down.
